In a spectacle city, Las Vegas musician and visual designer NUDNIK (real name Robert Marc Lieblein) is making one thing more. Where most see flashing lights and noise, he sees rhythm and emotion beneath the chaos. As a motion graphics designer along with a musician Robert develops what he calls “Alternative Modern Retro Art Rock.”
The fusion is no accident – it is just how he views the world, he says. “I think all of the videos and promos I created for the iNODE album sort of fit together,” he says. That synergy defines NUDNIK’s process: a world where design breathes life into sound and where sound implies visuals.
His debut album iNODE introduced that world with unflinching honesty. Dark, atmospheric and emotionally charged, it portrayed apocalyptic loneliness and broken communication – a mirror of modern life. But Robert isn’t stopping there. His next project is already Under the Underground. It isn’t a sequel, more of a descent into identity, connection and chaos.
NUDNIK is not just making songs. He’s constructing worlds one haunting melody at a time.
The Sound That Cuts Through the Static
Start understanding NUDNIK’s sound by feeling like you are somewhere between a dream along with a digital glitch. His first album iNODE includes spectral guitars, shimmering synths in addition to reflective moments. Each track has cinematic weight: sound that belongs in headphones at midnight and in the background of a dystopian film.
Influenced by Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead and Love 1and1 Rockets NUDNIK explores beauty in opposition to decay. His songs are melody and distortion – confused and clear – just like the world they describe – iNODE is space to get into.
And with Under the Underground he is taking that experience even further. The next album is in the creation phase but NUDNIK teases a continuation of his conceptual storytelling. If iNODE was about disconnecting from contemporary life, Under the Underground may be about rebuilding, meaning making or perhaps surrendering to chaos. Each sound, each lyric is constructed to make the listener see and unsettled.
Why NUDNIK’s Work Resonates Now
NUDNIK’s art addresses something timeless – finding beauty in broken systems. His world is dystopian but human. Layered under the synths and distortion is the exact same question many of us face: how can we remain connected in a noise world?
He documents that paradox in contrast – sonic and visual, mechanical and emotional. By merging design and music NUDNIK reflects this era: screens everywhere, motion everywhere but a longing inside. His music is a mirror of exactly how alienation also can incite creativity.
It isn’t a complaint when Robert says “iNODE is a sullen and dark offering about the state of the world we live in.” This is a mission statement. He’s using art to decipher modern dissonance, turning chaos into something alive.
As he gets ready for Under the Underground NUDNIK keeps pushing boundaries – conceptually and musically. His work reminds listeners that even in the most fractured world, creativity can unify us all.
