How Rudra Found His Voice in Hip-Hop: A Story of Passion and Growth

And so we must follow the life and times of one such promising artist – Rudra. This guy’s story is no ordinary tale of somebody randomly discovering a passion. Rudra discovered music at 8 years old. While many children were playing video games or even riding bicycles, Rudra started composing melodies and tapping rhythms on whatever surface he could find. Oh, homework didn’t hold his attention long. Born to an Indian home, he lived with Bollywood tunes and this was never something he attempted to escape. It is as if music chose him before he chose it. Fast forward a few years and while his classmates were probably more immersed in high school life than Rudra was, the rappers Tupac and Drake had been supplying complexity and comfort. It wasn’t all listening though. Rudra took in the emotion, the storytelling, the energy behind every verse. This particular music got him through the typical teenage trials and taught him the value of a genuine voice. Check Out one of his songs – Drippin through – to find out just how these early influences are creating his distinctive sound of catchy beats in addition to relatable lyrics. On a long drive or simply chilling at home, Rudra could have the new vibe you need.

Tuning into the Rhythms of Tupac

Fast forward to high school and Rudra was kind of out of place – similar to a square peg inside a round hole. We all know that phase right? Where you are finding your rhythm and everything feels a bit off? For Rudra, Tupac Shakur’s music offered a lifeline. It was more than the beats and choruses; it was about the beats. It was the truth, the emotion and also the raw realities Tupac conveyed that truly hit him. During the times when no one appeared to comprehend his world, Tupac’s raw vitality and expression filled that gap. Rudra was listening but soaking it up – every lyric and every beat. He dug into Tupac’s discography headfirst. It was more than a musical show. It was a personal connection to the stories, feelings and resilience Tupac expressed through his artwork. At this time, Rudra’s own notepad scribbles became something more meaningful. Following what appeared to be an endless loop of mp3s and late night documentary binges, Rudra was motivated and driven to tackle his songwriting again. Tupac’s music sparked Rudra’s creative fire and propelled him to start making his music. That year spent in Tupac’s universe formed Rudra’s own musical stories.

The Drake Phase and Its Influence

Rudra’s musical journey had taken a turn in an otherwise routine school event – the prize giving ceremony. Imagine this: Rudra, fifteen, bored out of his head, sitting through hours of formalities. Seems like a snooze fest huh? Well, Rudra was no ordinary teenager. While others have been zoning out, he kept his earphones tucked into his shirt to listen to any music he might sneak in while not getting found. He knew the teachers most likely knew about his little trick, but because he wasn’t bothering anyone they let it slide. Subsequently a song came through – it was Drake. This was brand new to him which was love at first listen. As with Tupac when he first seduced him, Rudra was hooked. He didn’t listen to Drake just yet. He absorbed each note, every beat, every lyric. It had been far more than music. It was storytelling done right, feelings expressed with sound. There was not any of the commercial hype of Drake today, absolutely no beef or feuds – simply pure, uncontaminated artistry which reached young Rudra. This was no music for him; this was more than music. It was an education in expression and emotion. It taught him to hear and feel and enabled Rudra to develop his style of music. That phase helped him grow and laid the emotional ground for his later creations.

Creating Music and More Teen Dramas

By age 16 Rudra had turned his room into a mini-studio. Inspired by icons who can make whole tracks by themselves he started out making beats. However teenage years have their share of downs and ups – particularly in terms of relationships in which emotions are rampant and everything seems huge. Those personal dramas – particularly high school love and heartbreak – were his early tracks. His music was more than a pastime. it became his way to navigate and convey those intense emotions. As Rudra drew his heart out into his songs, he began to find an audience on the internet – particularly on Instagram – for his storytelling.

But life being what it is, threw him a curveball and he went into pause. The demands of reality then took over his musical journey. It was a breather – those types of moments that you know is essential no matter if it is tough – now. You know how sometimes stepping back from one thing helps you see it? That is what Rudra did. That hiatus showed him how profoundly music was ingrained in his DNA. It was just like finding one thing you thought you lost then realizing it again with greater appreciation. So when he returned, it was not merely picking up exactly where he left off. It was about going back in with new drive and purpose, sharing his new self through music.

A Return with a Purpose

Those three years away from music weren’t a blank page of Rudra’s timeline. These were very important years full of experiences which eventually influenced him and also provided significance to his return to music. During this particular time he experienced love, heartbreak and discovered friendships. When Rudra finally got back into creating music it was more than a pastime or something fueled by youth excitement. It had turned into a reflective mature pursuit. This time, he wasn’t repeating the tunes of artists he liked. No, Rudra started defining his style, his sound. It is like he has discovered this sweet balance of random creativity and polished techniques that truly makes the music pop. Music has turned into more than a hobby for him: a hobby. It is like therapy, a means to channel and process those stormy feelings. It brings order to the whirlwind. You can practically feel that growth and soul searching with his tracks. Music, for Rudra, is now a window in his evolution, a testament of his life.
