Lindsay Zoladz, a pop music critic for The Times, has long been a fan of Neko Case’s genre-defying music. But she says that Case’s new memoir, “The Harder I Fight the More I Love You,” made her appreciate Case’s music anew.
“Getting a slightly more linear sense of certain things that were going on in her life at the time that she wrote some of her greatest albums really gave me a new sense of clarity into her experience,” Zoladz said.
It also led Zoladz to re-listen to some of her favorite tracks. That inspired this playlist, which she says is an introduction to Case’s distinct songwriting.
